Shortly after graduating from the University of Georgia with a BFA, Molly McKinley began her career in event planning and styling. As cliche as it is, planning the details of her own special day (to her now husband Matt) sparked her interest in the world of weddings. Well, actually, it might have begun much earlier according to several home videos where Molly forced her little brother into marrying her. With three older sisters all married by the time she turned eleven, she grew up a permanent flower girl. She carried around a journal full of sketches of wedding dresses. Apparently, it was “no surprise” to her friends and family when Molly jumped into the wedding business!
As she began coordinating her first events, she started part-time jobs in the catering and wedding invitation industries to gain more expertise in her field. Her degree in art (specifically jewelry and metals) sharpened her eye to visualize and curate each aesthetic detail of a wedding design. Most importantly, Molly’s business grew from word of mouth until she became a full-time business owner. Reviews cited her calm and caring spirit, artistic eye, personal touch, and of course her exceptional ability to run a wedding day with professionalism, attention to detail, and ease.
Molly loves getting to really know her clients to create a day that is unique to them. She loves a romantic, timeless wedding just as much as one full of eclectic details and bright colors. She is always pushing the envelope and creating new trends in the wedding industry. Her planning process is focused around the details – unique floral containers, a great menu, a custom lounge area, a beautiful dress. Molly loves creating the perfect atmosphere and focuses greatly on the guest experience.
A little more about Molly… Green is her favorite color. She has an obsession with antique mirrors. She loves every flower from peonies to protea. She’s one of five children, and her siblings are her very best friends. She married the cutest nerd she’s ever met. Reese’s are Molly’s candy of choice. She has two fur babies, Ford (a wheaten terrier) and Cooper (a mutt with an awkwardly long dachshund body)! On a bad day, she rearranges her furniture. Her perfect day is one spent in the mountains with her husband Matt, good friends, and a glass of wine. Molly lives in the sweet Atlanta neighborhood of Grant Park in a little mint green 1920’s home. Most of the time, her guest room is filled with welcome bags and wedding crafts. She wouldn’t change it for anything!
