So happy to finally get to share one of my favorite weddings from this past year at The Stave Room. Aubrie and Trae were so wonderful to work with… aren’t they cute? Aubrie and her mom had a gorgeous vision for her day, and I was thrilled they hired me to help make it happen. Her mom is so creative – she actually MADE the grapevine lights over the dance floor and recovered two small settees to use at the wedding. Isn’t that amazing?
We loved incorporating some details from New Orleans, where A & T fell in love, and also giving a nod to the groom’s French heritage. Thanks to Rustic White Photography for the beautiful pictures… see the full feature here on Every Last Detail!
Magnolia leaves were used throughout the event. Magnolias are Louisiana’s state flower! At cocktail hour, guests enjoyed an oyster bar, French 75’s, and Southern Mules (made with American Spirit whiskey – the venue’s own!). Following the first dances, guests were invited to a Southern buffet with fried chicken, collards, grits, mac and cheese and more. Tables were named after the couple’s favorite spots in NOLA.
Hand tied lavender was placed at each setting. Such a pretty detail for Aubrie’s guests, with inspiration pulled from French lavender fields. The architectural pattern in the linens reminded us of the cast iron gates and balconies of Creole homes.
The New Royals kept the party going, and guests also enjoyed a photobooth with purple & gold props. The couple exited with sparklers to a gorgeous Rolls Royce… our fave!
